April 2018

Saturday, May 19, 2018

Hello again.  So it is now mid-May and your April update has fallen by the wayside.  April is typically a busy month with preparations for the upcoming season and this year was no exception.  Working furiously under a time crunch the restaurant renovations need to be finished for a big event at the beginning of May (we’ll talk about that in the next blog post).  So it was that by the end of April the Cedar Post Inn sparkled with a few fresh coats of paint, a refurbished floor, varnished posts, and brand new lamps. With all the new changes we are very excited to welcome everyone back for the 2018 opening of the restaurant on May 17th.

Beyond the projects and property work, our water taxis have been keeping busy with the usual commercial business.  April is all about tree planting crews who not only keep our boats on the move but also fill the onshore accommodation.  The last of April’s tree planting crews brought a helicopter along with them allowing a few of us the special treat of seeing our world from above.

Thanks for following along on our April journey.  Make sure to keep an eye out for a very special upcoming May blog post.  For now here is a look back on April at Blind Channel.

We had a wonderful week in this incredible place. We saw orcas, dalls porpoise, dolphins, and a bear. Awesome! We so enjoyed the helpful and friendly staff, too. We look forward to coming back.
