July 2018

Who likes wine?  Well, here at Blind Channel July began with a wine event to remember.  The annual Canada Day celebration included wine tasting and fireworks. This years wine tasting event featured Spanish and Portuguese wines paired with house-made tapas.  The second event hosted in July featured the return of the Dave Blinzinger Jazz Trio. The live music on the patio included a beautifully handcrafted buffet dinner. July events on the patio to the backdrop of a summer sunset over Mayne passage are an opportunity you won’t want to miss.  Be sure to check the event schedule for the rest of the summer fun.

Event night or not the restaurant was hoping this July with some of the busiest nights ever.  The dock was on many occasions so full that even the fuel dock saw overnight guests. The hiking trails were heavily used providing refuge from the heat wave with many guests commenting on the improved boardwalks and bridges.  Our boats too were continually on the move with wildlife tours and fishing charters.

July was sure fun but the summer is not over yet, August is upon us and shaping up to be just as busy as July while September promises excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and some of the summer’s best fishing.  Here is a look back on July:

This is a beautiful place and very comfy accommodations, with friendly staff. I am reading two books, "I Heard the Owl Call my Name" and "Spilsbury's Coast." It is unique to be reading stories of the coast history while living in it. A wonderful trip.
